Grand Tetons Panoramas

2011-01-17T00:23:12-04:00

On the way up to Yellowstone, we stopped by Grand Tetons National Park. Of course, we stopped by the park's sign (top) and took some photos. On the way into the park, there were numerous pull-offs (middle) with good views and exhibits. Jenny Lake (bottom) is quite the visual experience, being at the foot of [...]

Mt. Evans Panoramas

2011-01-16T23:08:40-04:00

After Denver, we drove west on I-70 and made our way up the slopes to Mt. Evans via the highest paved road in the North America. We checked out the ruins of the Crest house (top) first. The elevation was impressive and we weren't used to it, so hiking the 150 feet to the summit [...]

Whitewater Center

2011-01-12T13:25:25-04:00

A company sponsored Saturday outing at the US National Whitewater Center. We were split up into teams of 6 and got to do a few runs on the man-made rapids. Afterwards we got a catered lunch and front row seats to watch other people paddle down the rapids. [view-the-gallery galleryaddress="UsWhitewaterCenter"]

Charlotte Sunset

2011-01-12T13:25:54-04:00

We found a nice spot at Bryant Park on the city's west side to enjoy a clear summer sunset. As the sun went down, the a nice show of colors transitioned to the dark of night. [view-the-gallery galleryaddress="ShadesOfSunset"]

Lynx Maintenance Facility

2011-01-12T13:26:14-04:00

As construction for the Charlotte's new mass transit line wraps up, they offered a public tour of the facility that will maintain the set of trains. It is directly adjacent to a major bus maintenance facility so they are able to share certain assets. We rode our bikes to the bus facility, where we were [...]

Coliseum Implosion

2011-01-12T13:26:34-04:00

The old Charlotte Coliseum was built in the late 80's as a multipurpose venue with tons of parking and reversible roads to get in and out of it. By the 2000's, it was horribly out of date and offered virtually nothing in addition to the events it hosted. When the city built a new arena [...]
