Starting in Monterey, we went down through Pebble Beach and Carmel-By-the-Sea before joining up with the Pacific Coast Highway and heading down to San Luis Obispo. Along the way we stopped at the Nepenthe Restaurant and numerous overlooks between there and the Hearst Castle. The next day we got up and took off down the coast for La Purisima Mission. It is a quaint, spanish-style mission that was rebuilt many years ago.  The last stop was the dutch town of Solvang before we drove the rest of the way to Los Angeles.
