In order to cover both families for Christmas this year, we decided to do the morning down here and then fly up to Maine in the afternoon. It worked out nice since the airport was more or less empty and the flights were cheaper. In Maine, we went up to Sunday River for a few days, the second of which was very cool due to the 4-5 inches of fresh powder that fell throughout the day. The following day, we snaked down through New Hampshire on our way to Boston, where we had a room at the Charlesmark Boutique Hotel for the night. The next day was kind of crappy weather-wise, but we saw some sights and drove through Harvard on our way back up to Maine before flying back home.
Once home, I got the invite for New Years Eve dinner with a bunch of friends from school. We took off for Raleigh on the 31st, had dinner and went out to watch the acorn drop. The next day we checked out the NC Museum of Art and Prairie Ridge before heading home.
